“Domestic violence and abuse are not merely crimes and injustices - they are profound human rights violations and a public health crisis. As the CEO of L + V Design and Founder of the Apna Ghar NOOR Fund, I am honored to create work that stands in solidarity with survivors. My art is a reflection of their unbreakable strength, enduring fortitude, and profound resilience.”
— Noura Salem
Apna Ghar's NOOR Fund is a philanthropic initiative by L + V Design, created to honor and uplift survivors of gender-based violence. In partnership with Apna Ghar, a Chicago-based nonprofit, this fund supports critical, life-saving services through the power of art and community.
Ten percent of the proceeds from each piece in this collection will be donated to Apna Ghar through this cause, helping to sustain their work to empower survivors, engage communities, and elevate gender and racial justice.
For over 30 years, Apna Ghar, which means our home in Hindi and Urdu has provided critical, comprehensive, culturally competent services, and conducted outreach and advocacy to end gender-based violence. Their work spans emergency shelter, housing support, legal advocacy, trauma-informed counseling, supervised visitation, and outreach programs that empower communities and advocate for lasting, systemic change.
The NOOR Fund is more than a giving initiative it is a tribute. This body of work was conceived as an homage to the fortitude, grace, and resilience of survivors. Their stories have deeply shaped the emotional tone and movement of each composition. Through this fund, we aim to bring awareness to their experiences, contribute to their healing, and foster meaningful engagement at the intersection of art, advocacy, and human resilience.
We invite you to stand with us and with survivors by supporting this meaningful cause.
